Originally posted last month on one of my favorite blogs: PhotoshopNews.com, this excellent overview of over 30 books by some of the most recognized people in the imaging industry is well worth a look. From Photoshop-related titles like Real World Camera Raw by Bruce Fraser and Jeff Schewe; to Eric Meola’s book of Unseen Photos of Bruce Springsteen; to Peter Krogh’s Digital Asset Management book (The DAM book); to I Am America (And So Can You!), by Stephen Colbert, this is a fantastic group of titles. I was also very honored to have had my new book, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques selected and reviewed by R. Mac Holbert of Nash Editions. More than 25 guest artists, including Mac Holbert, contributed to the 301 Inkjet Tips book.

Interview with Scott Sheppard on Inside Digital Photo TV

During the PhotoPlus Expo 2007 I was fortunate to have an opportunity to appear on Inside Digital Photo TV, hosted by Scott Sheppard. During the interview I talk for a few minutes about my new book, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques.

On a related note, I was also interviewed by Scott for an audio interview on Inside Digital Photo Radio, which you can find here.

5 “Must Know” Inkjet Tips on pdngearguide.com

pdngg.jpgI recently wrote an article for PDN Gear Guide entitled 5 “Must-Know” Inkjet Tips. The tips are partially excerpted from my new book, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques, and include tips on lighting, sample packs of inkjet paper, and information about some very cool resources, including links to craft projects and other free downloadable content from Canon, Epson and HP. You can find the article here.

Four articles covering tips on inkjet papers, books and portfolios

Over the past 6-8 months I’ve written four articles for pdnonline.com (the same company who publishes Photo District News magazine) on the topics of inkjet paper, books and portfolios. The titles of the articles and direct links to them are below:

Inkjet Paper Tips, Part I: “Fine Art Fiber” Tips and Techniques
Inkjet Paper Tips, Part II: “Fine-Art Matte and Watercolor Paper” Tips and Techniques
Portfolio Tips, Part I: Do-It-Yourself Options
Portfolio Tips, Part II: Outside Printing Sources

The photo shown below is from the article: “Portfolio Tips, Part II: Outside Printing Sources.” A detailed caption follows below that is not in the online article.

Some of these tips are covered in my new book: “301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers (Course Technology PTR),” which has recently started shipping. Since I wrote the article, there have been many new Fiber semi-gloss and Fiber gloss papers that have been released. Look for updates soon here on inkjettips.com.

301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques Just About to Start Shipping!

After more than 10 years of working with (and occasionally swearing at) inkjet printers, and two years working on the book, I’m happy to announce that 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers will begin shipping on October 9. I’ve seen a copy and I’m extremely proud to have my name on it. In addition to the tips that I contribute, more than 20 photographers and other artists have contributed their tips and techniques, and I can’t wait for all of them to see the book.

I’ll be announcing book-related info on this site, as well as on my site dedicated to photography tips and techniques: The Imaging Buffet. I also welcome comments and questions about the book. You can contact me on this page.

All the best!
